Thanksgiving 2014

As Thanksgiving approaches this year, we look forward to taking some time with our families to remember all the things we are thankful for. With so much of the family spread across the country, some Thanksgiving gatherings will be smaller than others, but we will still have many of the same traditional foods. For our family, that means a very traditional, relatively formal meal, complete with Turkey, gravy, potatoes, stuffing, rolls, yams, etc.

Fresh Candied Yams or Sweet Potatoes are a special treat at Thanksgiving. Use fresh sweet potatoes and this recipe to make the best Candied Yams ever.

Lion House Rolls are another favorite. Nothing beats fresh homemade rolls for Thanksgiving dinner.

Cranberry Sauce. Fresh cranberry sauce is so easy to make using this recipe! And it's even better if you have your grandmother's special bowl to serve it in.

And then, of course, you need some stuffing — make it from scratch with this recipe from Marie.

Oh, yes and of course pies. Lots of pies.

If you have a small gathering, Becky suggested making a variety of mini pies to share, so you can have a taste of all your favorites

Happy Thanksgiving preparations!
