Cookie Crumb Crust for a pie
You can make a crumb crust for a pie out of many kinds of cookies. This week I made one out of crushed Oreos in honor of that cookie's 100th birthday.
Cookie Crumb Crust
1 1/2 to 2 cups of finely crushed cookies (Oreos, vanilla wafers, chocolate cookies)
2 Tablespoons melted butter (if you use cream filled cookies)
or
4 Tablespoons melted butter (if you have other cookies)
Crush the cookies and stir in the melted butter. Press the crumbs into a 9" pie pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes. Cool. Fill as desired.
Tiffany's Notes: I used about 1 1/2 cups of crumbs and could have used a bit more. With cookies you don't add any sugar like you do with a Graham Cracker Crust. Hum...what did this pie crust get filled with? Check back to see. :)
