This photo shows different ways we like to make our turtles. The traditional way is to have the entire delectable concoction completely enrobed with chocolate, but you can have the little "feet" poking out and the centers covered with chocolate, or just put a dab of chocolate on the caramel.

Caramel, homemade or purchased
Melting chocolate

Place 4 pecan halves or 4 smaller pecan pieces on lightly buttered plastic wrap or on parchment paper. Cover at least the centers of the nuts with a small amount of gently melted caramel. Cover the entire piece or just part with chocolate. Let cool. Enjoy.
