Thanksgiving Recipes

Thanksgiving is a time for traditions and family. Whether you have a small gathering, or a large get-together, the main event is the Thanksgiving Dinner. For our family, that means a very traditional, formal meal, complete with Turkey, gravy, potatoes, stuffing, rolls, yams, etc.

Here are some of our traditional Thanksgiving favorites.

Orange Rolls. With or without frosting, orange rolls really are a treat. They sometimes make a delicious appearance at Wessman Family Thanksgiving dinners. You can bake a bunch of your regular rolls, and use some dough to make a few of them into orange rolls.
Lion House Rolls are another favorite. Nothing beats fresh homemade rolls for Thanksgiving dinner.

Cranberry Sauce. Fresh cranberry sauce is so easy to make using this recipe! And it's even better if you have your grandmother's special bowl to serve it in.
Marshmallow Salad — also known as Ambrosia Salad — made a yearly appearance at Granny Tanner's Thanksgiving dinners. Popular with children. Not so popular with anyone watching their waistline.

With stuffing, you can use the boxed kind, which is pretty good, or make it from scratch, which is even better with this recipe from Marie.
And the last recipe for today is for Candied Yams or Sweet Potatoes. Skip the marshmallows (ok, put them on for Alan!). Skip the canned things they sell. Use fresh sweet potatoes and this recipe to make the best Candied Yams ever.

Happy Thanksgiving preparations!
