Cream Cheese Swirl Cake

1 pkg. chocolate cake
1 cup water
½ cup margarine, melted
3 eggs
2 Tb. flour
Filling:
1/3 cup sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
½ tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup finely chopped nuts
¼ cup sugar

Combine cake and its ingredients at low until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at high speed. Pour into  greased and floured pan. In small bowl beat sugar, cream cheese, vanilla, egg until fluffy. Stir in  chocolate chips and nuts. Spoon over batter and lightly swirl. Sprinkle remaining sugar over. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes at 350°.

This recipe is similar to Cream Cheese Filled Cupcakes.  Even though I swirled the cake and batter, I was disappointed that they didn't mix.  I need the sister who has made this cake successfully to post her picture and secrets!! :-)

  2. That looks good! I made something similar a few halloweens ago. They were swirl brownies. I made two batches and died the cream cheese orange, green and purple.
